Job Description
Summary: HARMAN International is a global company focused on transforming technology in the automotive sector. They are seeking a Summer Intern in Hardware and Mechanical Engineering to assist with various engineering tasks, including CAD design and product testing.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with Mechanic engineering in CAD, specifically Creo and CATIA
- Participate in ME part design and fabrication
- Support concept ideas, brainstorming, and design review process
- Create assembly documents to support installation of prototype parts
- Assist with 3D printing and post-processing of prototype parts
- Assisting in the realization of customer and Harman requirements into practical design
- Technical support for the industrialization of functional items in a vehicle environment
- Assist in the product testing and implementation in concept cars
- Work with cross-functional product development teams
- Participates in automotive & technology forums
- Conduct mechanical design of prototype parts in an automotive environment
- Run mechanical calculations
Required Qualifications:
- Must have taken courses in Mechanical Engineering
- Must have skills in CAD engineering, Creo or CATIA preferred
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills and be able to confidently interact with and present information to senior leaders
- Must work collaboratively with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills in a global team environment
- Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program at an accredited institution having completed your Sophomore year or later, taking at least one class in the semester/quarter before participation in the internship program, and returning to school for at least one semester upon completion of the internship program
- Must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA
- Be willing to work in an office in Novi, Michigan
- Able to provide your own housing and transportation to/from work
- Must possess unrestricted work authorization
- Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment
- Must provide full work availability from May 18, 2026 through August 7, 2026 and be able to work 40 hours per week
