About the Role
Business Analyst – Master Data Management partners closely with business Data Owners, Data Stewards, and Digital teams to enhance the quality, governance, and management of enterprise master data. This role supports the Customer, Vendor, and Material Master data domains by driving business process improvements, data governance initiatives, and data quality programs. The ideal candidate combines strong SAP business process expertise with data management and business analysis skills to deliver reliable, high-quality data that enables efficient business operations and informed decision-making across the organization
What You Will Do
Business Partnership
Partner with Data Owners, Data Stewards, and Process Owners to understand business needs and data challenges.
Act as the primary liaison between business teams and Digital/IT.
Facilitate workshops, requirements gathering, and process discussions.
Drive alignment on data standards, business rules, and governance processes.
Master Data Management
Support Customer, Vendor, and Material Master data processes.
Document and improve master data workflows and controls.
Support data harmonization, migration, and transformation initiatives.
Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate processes.
Data Governance & Quality
Support enterprise data governance policies, standards, and controls.
Partner with Data Owners and Data Stewards to improve data quality.
Monitor data quality KPIs and governance metrics.
Analyze data issues, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions.
Support governance reviews, audits, and compliance activities.
Business Analysis
Gather, document, and manage business requirements.
Develop BRDs, user stories, process maps, and functional specifications.
Perform AS-IS / TO-BE assessments and fit-gap analysis.
Translate business requirements into functional solutions.
Support solution evaluations and business case development.
SAP & Enterprise Applications
Support master data processes across:
SAP SD
SAP MM
SAP FICO
Manufacturing and Supply Chain
Understand the impact of master data across integrated business applications.
Collaborate with functional and technical teams to deliver scalable solutions.
Project Delivery
Participate in MDM and Data Governance projects from design through deployment.
Support SIT, UAT, and business validation activities.
Develop training materials and process documentation.
Support change management and user adoption.
Provide post-go-live support and issue resolution.
What You Need to Be Successful
4-7 years of experience in Business Analysis, Master Data Management (MDM), Data Governance, Data Quality, or related Digital/IT functions.
Experience with requirements gathering, process mapping, business process improvement, fit-gap analysis, testing, and user acceptance activities.
Experience working with business Data Owners, Data Stewards, and Process Owners in a global organization.
Strong understanding of Customer, Vendor, and Material Master data domains and their impact on business processes.
Good knowledge of SAP business processes including Sales & Distribution (SD), Materials Management (MM), Finance & Controlling (FICO), Supply Chain, and Manufacturing.
Experience supporting SAP ERP environments; exposure to SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) preferred.
Understanding of Data Governance, Data Stewardship, Data Quality, Data Lifecycle Management, Data Standards, and Master Data Management principles.
Exposure to Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, SQL, and enterprise reporting and analytics solutions.
Proficiency with business analysis and collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, Visio, and Microsoft Office.
Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and facilitation skills.
Ability to work effectively across business and Digital teams in a global, matrixed environment.
Bonus Points if You Have
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience with SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) implementations.
Exposure to Microsoft Purview Data Governance and Catalog capabilities.
Exposure to Microsoft Fabric Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, and Analytics capabilities.
Knowledge of DAMA-DMBOK or other Data Governance frameworks.
CBAP, CCBA, CDMP, or equivalent professional certifications.
Experience supporting enterprise data governance, ERP transformation, or digital transformation initiatives.

Willing to work in an office- hybrid setup in Bangalore, India.
