Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Stores Manager with approximately 10+ years of experience in manufacturing stores and warehouse operations, preferably from the valve, Oil & Gas, engineering or industrial manufacturing industry.
The candidate should have strong hands-on experience in ERP-based stores management, inventory control, material traceability, warehouse systems, inward/outward material control and coordination with Purchase, Production, Planning, Quality and Finance.
Experience in a valve manufacturing environment, particularly with API 6D Ball, Plug and Butterfly Valves, will be highly preferred.
The ideal candidate should be systems-oriented, ERP proficient and data-driven, with the ability to establish strong inventory controls and ensure accurate real-time stock information.
Stores & Warehouse Management
- Manage the complete stores and warehouse operations for raw materials, bought-out components, consumables, WIP and finished goods.
- Establish and maintain systematic storage, identification and retrieval of materials.
- Ensure proper material segregation and storage based on material type, status and usage.
- Take ownership of ERP-based stores and inventory transactions.
- Ensure all material movements are accurately recorded in the ERP system.
- Ensure real-time inventory visibility through the ERP system.
- Identify and eliminate gaps between physical stock and ERP stock.
- Establish controls for minimum/maximum stock levels and reorder requirements.
- Ensure proper identification and traceability of:
- Heat numbers
- Material codes
- Batch numbers
- Lot numbers
- Purchase orders
- MTCs
- Inspection status
- Material status
- Job/work-order references
- Plan and conduct periodic physical stock verification.
- Implement cycle-counting systems for critical and high-value materials.
- Reconcile physical inventory with ERP records.
- Investigate and close inventory variances.
- Support internal, customer and external audits.
- Maintain proper documentation for stock verification and reconciliation.
- Maintain accurate records for:
- GRNs
- Material issue slips
- Material return notes
- Stock transfer documents
- Inspection status
- Rejection/quarantine records
- Scrap records
- Inventory reconciliation
- Cycle-count records
- Material traceability records
- Dispatch documentation
- Approximately 10+ years of experience in Stores / Warehouse / Inventory Management.
- Strong experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing a stores team and multiple warehouse activities.
- Proven experience in ERP-based inventory management.
- Strong understanding of material traceability and inventory controls.
- Experience handling high-value engineering/manufacturing materials.
Education
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, Logistics, Materials Management or related discipline.
- Additional qualification in Materials Management / Supply Chain / Logistics will be an advantage.
