Job Description
Summary: Hargrove Engineers & Constructors is seeking a Project Manager Intern to assist project managers with routine assignments using theoretical knowledge and practical design methods. The intern will support various tasks including developing personnel plans, producing preliminary designs, and recording meeting notes under direct supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Familiarity with and utilization of department engineering design and drafting standards
- Assisting in developing and/or maintaining Vision personnel plans
- Assisting in producing estimate level preliminary designs and material take-offs
- Assisting in producing calculations, spreadsheets, reports, drawings, and sketches for various projects
- Assisting Project Managers in resolving routine layout and detailing coordination problems
- Assisting in recording and publishing meeting notes and Action Item Lists
Required Qualifications:
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master of Science degree program for Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or Chemical Engineering at an accredited university is required
- 2.7 GPA required
- Familiarity with and utilization of department engineering design and drafting standards
- Assisting in developing and/or maintaining Vision personnel plans
- Assisting in producing estimate level preliminary designs and material take-offs
- Assisting in producing calculations, spreadsheets, reports, drawings, and sketches for various projects
- Assisting Project Managers in resolving routine layout and detailing coordination problems
- Assisting in recording and publishing meeting notes and Action Item Lists
- Familiarity with standards and codes
- Familiarity with developing construction/specification documents specific to their respective engineering field of study
- Working knowledge of CAD software, either AutoCAD, Microstation or both
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time
- The selected candidate must be authorized to work in the United States
