Summary: Hargrove Engineers & Constructors is a company focused on providing engineering solutions, and they are seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to assist in performing routine designs under direct supervision. The intern will work on developing conceptual layouts, producing preliminary designs, and supporting the drafting group with various tasks. Responsibilities: - Familiarity with and utilizing department design and drafting standards - Assisting in developing conceptual layouts and cost studies as necessary to determine the simplest, most efficient approach to solving engineering tasks - Assisting in producing estimate level preliminary designs and material take-offs - Assisting in producing detail design calculations and sketches for materials of construction associated with projects - Assisting in producing designs with efficient use of construction materials with an overall emphasis on ease of construction and completed product meeting the expectations of the client - Assisting the drafting group in resolving routine layout and detailing problems - Assisting with filing, print scanning, copying and other departmental support tasks Required Qualifications: - Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master of Science Degree Program in Civil Engineering at an accredited university is required - Structural coursework is required for structural engineering internships or coops - GPA: 2.7 or above Required - Basic knowledge of CAD software, either AutoCAD, Microstation or both - Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook - Good communication skills, both verbal and written - Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time - The selected candidate must be authorized to work in the United States Required Skills: AutoCAD, Microstation, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Civil Engineering Benefits: Paid time off, Health insurance benefits, Matching retirement contributions, Paid holidays, Personal paid time off, Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, 401(k), Other benefits to eligible Teammates
