Job Description
Summary: Hannaford Supermarkets is a local market with a rich history in fresh produce since 1883. The Fresh Production Associate is responsible for managing and organizing fresh department loads, assisting customers, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the work area.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, retrieve and organize fresh department load; break down the load and put product in its proper location
- Greet and assist customers
- Cull dated items for deli, meat and seafood side case
- Bakery morning cull and production list
- Fill and rotate product as outlined in Fresh Stocking training guide; process merchandise properly, paying careful attention to rotation of products according to prescribed standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area on the sales floor and in storage areas. Perform all assigned cleaning functions in accordance with company policy for fresh department case cleans
- Fill supply area for fresh departments as necessary
- Observe proper temperature control of all display cases, storage areas and product
- Assist in training other associates and perform other functions as assigned
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations
Required Qualifications:
- Effective communication, customer service and selling skills
- Effective interpersonal skills and a desire and willingness to work in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job
- Must meet minimum age requirements
- Lift up to 20 lbs. regularly, including overhead lifting, and up to 60 lbs. occasionally
- Push/pull up to 40 lbs. regularly
- Frequent bending, kneeling and squatting
- Frequent reaching, grasping and lifting individual stock items below waist level or above shoulder level
- Stand or walk 100% of the time
- Meet established volume/activity standards
- Tolerate working in in extreme hot/cold temperatures for up to 20 minutes at a time
- Be able to handle a variety of substances associated with cleaning materials, packaging materials, and food products
