Job Description
Summary: Hach is a company dedicated to ensuring water quality for people around the world. The Field Service Technician is responsible for delivering high-quality customer service, performing preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration of Hach devices at customer sites, with significant travel involved.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration/verification of instrumentation using established company standard work
- Promotes a positive customer experience and serves as on-site customer contact for technical and service-related problems
- Work in a wide variety of municipal and industrial settings, including but not limited to drinking water & wastewater treatment facilities, refineries, chemical manufacturing plants, food & beverage processing facilities, etc....Some applications may involve instrument servicing in NEC hazardous locations (Class I Division 2) •
- Submits prompt, accurate service reports that affect billing, inventory, instrument history, and instrument failure
- Follows safe work practices according to company policy
- Executes administrative activities in support of service visits
- Daily travel to customer sites. This role will be based in the Greater Greenville or Spartanburg, SC, area and supports our customers throughout the territory. Expect up to 75% travel. Company-paid travel, accommodations, and meals are provided for overnight stays. You can expect to have 1 or 2 overnight stays per week
Required Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a travel-based field service and/or customer-facing roles
- HS Diploma required; Associates/technical degree preferred, or a combination of education and experience
- Basic mechanical aptitude is a must - experience with preventative maintenance and technical diagnostics/repair is helpful but not required
- A valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and the ability to rent a car and/or hotel rooms under applicable state law are required
