Job Description
Summary: Greenpoint Technologies, Inc. specializes in delivering VIP Jet aircraft interiors for private clients and Heads-of-State. They are seeking a Design Intern to support the Design Team in planning and executing aviation design projects, assisting with tasks such as organizing materials, preparing presentation boards, and creating AutoCAD drawings.
Responsibilities:
- Assists the Design Team in performing the following: organizing the material library, preparing presentation boards, printing presentation materials, updating the portfolio wall, and coordinating with suppliers
- Supports preparing illustrations for proposal and program (i.e. colored deck plans, elevations)
- May assist in the creation and on-going updates to the Material and Furnishing Identification Sheets (MIDS/FIDS) for programs, including the Clipping for Approval (CFA) folders and associated samples and mock-ups
- Assist preparing AutoCAD working drawings from sketches and design specifications, and support redline updates to drawings, as required
- Contributes to a positive work atmosphere by displaying productive behavior and communication focused on building effective working relationships with customers, clients, co-workers and management
- Maintains regular attendance including being at work, being on time to work and working full shifts
- Other duties may be assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Pursuit of or fulfillment of a Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in design or related discipline from a four-year College or university; related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Employees working on programs subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations must qualify as a US Person which is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company/foreign government/foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee for legal compliance purposes
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and design software such as Adobe Suite (Photoshop) and AutoCAD
- Demonstrated ability to hand-sketch and communicate creative design ideas
- Ability to work well independently and cross-functionally as part of a team
- Strong communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time, use hands to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and have close/color vision ability to adjust focus
