Operating with a vibrant digital campus alongside expanding grassroots initiatives in the Greater Reading area, we build and maintain custom web applications, APIs, and digital platforms to connect people to Jesus and community. We are seeking a skilled, dedicated Full Stack Developer to help build and maintain our digital ecosystem.
Role Overview
The Full Stack Developer helps design, implement, and maintain user-facing web applications, internal ministry tools, and database integrations that power Greater IMPACT Church's online worship experience and volunteer management workflows.
You will collaborate with technology and executive leadership to deliver reliable, high-performance software solutions—combining flexible remote coding with occasional in-person technical planning meetings in Reading, PA.
Scope of Service & Key Responsibilities
Web Platform Development: Build and maintain web applications, interactive components (e.g. Online Worship Center, volunteer portal), and responsive interfaces using modern frameworks (Next.js, React, TypeScript).
Backend & API Integrations: Implement and maintain serverless API routes, database schemas, authentication systems, and third-party integrations (Planning Center, Stripe, Dover, YouTube APIs).
Code Quality & Maintenance: Write clean, modular, and maintainable code with attention to performance, security, and responsive UI design across all device form factors.
Team Collaboration: Participate in occasional in-person technical syncs, sprint planning, and campus check-ins in the Reading, PA area.
Qualifications & Requirements
Proximity Requirement: **Must reside within 10 miles of Reading, PA** for occasional in-person technical planning meetings, campus syncs, and leadership alignment.
Full Stack Experience: Familiarity with full-stack web development (React/Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js, REST/GraphQL APIs, SQL/NoSQL databases).
Version Control & Workflows: Comfortable working with Git and GitHub workflows.
Self-Motivated & Dependable: Ability to manage development tasks independently and deliver milestones reliably.
Heart for Kingdom Ministry: A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a desire to use software engineering skills to expand God's kingdom.
Time Commitment: Ability to commit approximately 5–10 flexible hours per week on a hybrid schedule.
