Position Summary
The Customer Insights Analyst is the primary data analytics and business intelligence resource for the Office Equipment (OEG) business unit. This role serves as the lead driver for customer-facing data insights and reporting, partnering closely with external customers and internal stakeholders to transform data into actionable insights and advance automation and reporting capabilities. It also acts as the data subject matter expert (SME) for the OEG business unit, uncovering opportunities that create additional value for both internal stakeholders and customers.
The analyst leverages expertise in data analysis, visualization, and reporting to design scalable business intelligence solutions and self-service reporting tools. Additionally, the role identifies patterns, opportunities, and trends within customer data to strengthen decision-making and deliver innovative, customer-focused data products—ensuring transparency and giving OEG a competitive edge in leveraging data for business success.
As a Customer Insights Data Analyst, you will:
Business Intelligence & Self-Service Solutions
- Design and deliver accurate, scalable self-service BI solutions for internal teams and external customers, promoting data democratization and supporting dependable decision-making and long-term growth
- Develop and manage customer-facing reporting solutions for OEG through secure, user-friendly portals that enhance transparency and engagement.
- Develop ad-hoc reporting capabilities to meet evolving customer and business needs quickly and effectively.
- Collaborate with the data platform team to define data requirements necessary to support BI and self-service solutions, ensuring robust data pipelines and infrastructure for long-term scalability.
Customer Portfolio Analysis & Insight Generation
- Perform descriptive and trend-based analysis to uncover patterns in customer behavior, driving retention, cross-sell, and up-sell strategies across the financing lifecycle.
- Conduct portfolio segmentation analysis to identify high-value opportunities and emerging trends.
- Monitor portfolio health metrics such as customer retention rates, lifetime value, volume growth, and acquisition trends, and translate findings into actionable insights that create incremental customer value.
Strategic Partnership & Customer Engagement
- Partner with internal stakeholders and finance teams to deliver data-driven insights that inform strategic and financial decisions.
- Collaborate with advanced analytics teams to integrate predictive or prescriptive models when appropriate.
- Prepare and present compelling, insight-driven narratives for leadership and key customer accounts during business reviews.
- Engage regularly with customers to understand evolving needs, present insights, and ensure reporting solutions deliver maximum value.
Data Product Innovation
- Identify opportunities for new data products and monetizable insights based on evolving customer needs.
- Work with product and engineering teams to prototype and define requirements for new data features.
- Benchmark customer data against industry standards to maintain competitive advantage and elevate the customer experience.
To be successful in this role you will need:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Information Systems, or related field.
- Master’s degree or professional certification in BI or analytics is a plus
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a similar technical role.
- Proven track record of designing and delivering BI dashboards and reporting solutions.
- Experience working with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams, including finance and product teams.
- Exposure to customer-facing reporting and external data delivery is a plus.
- Familiarity with advanced analytics concepts and ability to collaborate with data science teams.
Skills and Abilities
- Technical:
- Proficiency in BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
- Strong SQL skills for querying and data manipulation.
- Knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, and relational databases.
- Understanding of descriptive analytics, trend analysis, and KPI development.
- Ability to work with large datasets and optimize performance for reporting solutions.
- Experience with Agile Analytics methodologies for iterative development and delivery.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Azure, AWS) is a plus.
