Job Description
This job is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of aircraft while ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all passengers, including patients, escorts, and healthcare providers. The role operates in strict compliance with Transport Canada regulations and responds promptly to urgent medical transport requests, demonstrating adaptability to changing client needs, weather conditions, and operational requirements. Key responsibilities include conducting thorough pre-flight inspections to ensure aircraft airworthiness, maintaining high standards of readiness through grooming, restocking, and fueling, and actively contributing to the development and continuous improvement of standard operating procedures and operational checklists.
The Opportunity:
The Saskatchewan Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement, Air Ambulance Services, has an opportunity for a qualified temporary full-time pilot located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Air Ambulance is a 24/7 emergency medical air evacuation service for provincial and national destinations in compliance with the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CAR's).
The successful candidate will be responsible to provide customer services by piloting aircraft, and participating as a team member in delivering the highest level of service in an environment that stresses safety, security and comfort.
Responsibilities
- Perform pilot duties and ensure the safety and wellbeing of the passengers.
- Operate aircraft in full compliance with Transport Canada regulations and applicable air travel rules.
- Respond promptly to urgent medical requests, providing safe and effective transport for patients, escorts and healthcare providers.
- Adapt to changing client needs, weather conditions, and operational requirements.
- Verify aircraft worthiness prior to each flight.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of standard operating procedures and checklists.
- Wash, groom, restock and fuel aircraft to maintain airworthiness and the highest operational standards.

Technical Knowledge and Skills:
- a valid Airline Transport Pilot License;
- a minimum of 3000 hours of flying time with at least 1500 as pilot-in-command of multi-engine aircraft;
- extensive recent instrument flying, including the use of GPS/FMS navigation equipment;
- experience in northern domestic and high density airspace;
- experience in King Air B200, or other multi-engine turbine powered aircraft; and
- the ability to successfully pass an IRT/PPC on King Air B200.
