MANAGER, ADVISORY SERVICES
Location: Regina, SK, Canada
The Opportunity:
The Ministry of Government Relations is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Advisory Services and Municipal Relations (ASMR) team as Manager of Advisory Services. This challenging role is a part of the Municipal Engagement Unit that provides education and legislative guidance on municipal responsibilities to the province’s municipal system; facilitates the execution of legislative instruments under the municipal acts; and carries out ministerial authorities and responsibilities such as conducting public meetings and negotiating agreements.
• Applies methods and techniques for developing, implementing, managing, and evaluating programs, projects, and applicable third-party agreements.
• Communicates ideas, concepts, strategies, issues and status reports to diverse audiences.
• Identifies and develops options and their implications to achieve policy, program and legislative directions and/or changes.
• Works independently and collaboratively on projects with teams, co-workers, government and external stakeholders.
• Plans and organizes multiple, complex tasks and projects considering conflicting and changing priorities to meet strict or changing deadlines.
• Applies financial, economic, and social theories and techniques to analyze issues, develop briefing notes and analytical reports, and make decisions and recommendations for projects, services, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Provides leadership to the team through effective guidance, coaching and supervision.

• An understanding of the acts, regulations and policies impacting Saskatchewan’s municipal system;

• An understanding of Saskatchewan’s municipal government operations and decision-making processes including how specific areas of policy and legislation are implemented (i.e. tax and assessment, election procedures or changes in municipal structure);
• Knowledge of customer and client service frameworks; and
• A creative approach as you complete tasks and projects and oversee others work; while also paying attention to detail to ensure accurate, high quality work in a fast-paced environment.
