Licensing Officer
Location: Regina, SK, Canada
The Opportunity:
The FCAA protects Saskatchewan consumers and investors and fosters fair and efficient markets by providing effective, balanced, and timely marketplace regulation. We enhance consumer protection through licensing, registration, disclosure, audit, complaint handling and enforcement activities pursuant to various provincial statutes.
The Consumer Protection Division of the Financial and Consumer Affair Authority (FCAA) protects consumers by regulating a number of industries within Saskatchewan including motor vehicle dealers, direct sellers, collection agents and auction companies. Within its licensing unit we are seeking an experienced individual to fill the position of Licensing Officer. This position performs an important gatekeeping function by reviewing applicants’ suitability for licensing. The Licensing Officer is also responsible for answering questions from licensees, applicants, and the public. From time to time, the position may be required to provide assistance in the investigation of licensing conduct cases. Lastly, the Licensing Officer is responsible for identifying deficiencies, providing advice and direction with respect to specific licensing requirements, and recommending regulatory action for non-compliance.

- Review applicants'' suitability for licensing.
- Answer questions from licensees, applicants and the public.
- Provide assistance in the investigation of licensing conduct cases.
- Identify deficiencies, provide advice and direction with respect to specific licensing requirements.
- Recommend regulatory action for non-compliance.
- Leads continuous improvement of business initiatives, processes and tools.
