Reporting to the Manager of Recruiting and Staffing, the Recruitment and Staffing Consultant is responsible is supporting health professional recruitment and staffing efforts across Nunavut for the Department of Health (Health). This position assists in the coordination and implementation of staffing processes for indeterminate, term, transfer assignments, and casual positions delegated to Health. The Recruitment and Staffing Consultant works with internal teams and external partners to support the recruitment of healthcare professionals in alignment with Health workforce planning needs. The position contributes to outreach initiatives, helps prepare recruitment materials, and supports efforts to promote the Government of Nunavut as an employer of choice.
Responsibilities
The Recruitment and Staffing Consultant is also responsible for:
- Organizing and participating in recruitment events such as career fairs, conferences, and trade shows.
- Creating and updating recruitment materials and coordinating event logistics and; Tracking recruitment outcomes and providing input to improve strategies and processes.
- Managing all stages of the recruitment process in alignment with GN policies, procedures, and HR best practices.
- Facilitating the Selection Committee's participation throughout the hiring process to ensure the adherence to GN policies, procedures and Article 23 provisions and to inform each Committee member of their respective roles;
- Collaborating with regional HR teams to ensure timely and accurate completion of staffing requests.
- Providing input into new recruitment tools and materials, including resources about community life and relocation support.
- Develop briefing notes, reports, press releases and other submissions to update the Department regarding recruitment/marketing initiatives, statistics, and other relevant information.
Qualifications
The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are usually obtained through a recognized undergraduate degree in human resources, business administration, or related field; along with two (2) years of related work experience in the human resources field, such as recruitment or staffing. This is a Highly Sensitive Position and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, along with a clear Vulnerable Sector Check is required.
The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English and French. Applicants may submit their resume in any of the official languages of Nunavut. Fluency in one or more of Nunavut’s official languages is an asset. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment are also considered assets.
