Summary: Gordon Food Service is one of North America's largest food service distributors, and they are seeking a Data Engineer Intern to join their Atlanta Tech Hub. This 12-week paid internship program offers hands-on experience in data engineering, working alongside industry professionals and engaging in meaningful projects that impact the business. Responsibilities: - Analyzing department processes and other Gordon Food Service (GFS) systems encountered and makes recommendations, improvements, as appropriate. Participates in quality monitoring activities/process improvement activities - Communicates, collaborates, and acts as a team member with others in order to ensure continuity and coordination of services - Will learn and use HashiCorp terraform and GCP products used by the team for data engineering - i.e. BigQuery, cloud run, firestore, google cloud storage, cloud scheduler, etc - Will work on various tasks to get hands-on experience with Data Engineering and the Data Platform at GFS - Will have opportunities for improving data pipelines, automating processes, onboarding new data sources to the data lake, and working with business stakeholders to understand their needs and build solutions towards those needs - Attending unique networking opportunities in and outside the office - Engaging in our mentorship program - Shadowing jobs across the organization to explore your career path potential - Participating in Gordon Food Services’ community and stewardship efforts - Developing personal and professional skills through workshops about communication, LinkedIn, presenting, and more Required Qualifications: - Currently enrolled in a university pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Degree - Must be authorized to work in the US - Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher Required Skills: Data Engineering, HashiCorp Terraform, Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, Cloud Run, Firestore, Google Cloud Storage, Cloud Scheduler, Data Pipeline Automation, Process Improvement Benefits: Paid Weekly, Flex Hours, Gordon Food Service Store Discount, Employee Assistance Program
