Job Description
Summary: Goldman Sachs Asset & Wealth Management offers a unique opportunity to help clients realize their potential while developing your own career. The Analyst role involves supporting the Client Solutions Group through financial modeling, strategic initiatives, and business reporting, while collaborating with various teams to drive efficiency and support senior leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Manage key financial processes across the global business (e.g., annual sales budgeting process, P&L management, sales and fundraising projections, etc.)
- Analyze large datasets, identify relevant insights, and translate findings into actionable recommendations to support informed decision‑making around fundraising targets and prospects
- Produce weekly business summaries, KPI progress updates and complete ad-hoc requests from senior management, etc
- Work closely with senior management to assess the state, and develop the narrative, of the business and provide analytical support for strategic initiatives
- Coordinate across regions on global initiatives related to business strategy, client engagement, technology and reporting
- Take project management lead while partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to identify and execute on opportunities to drive efficiency and scale
- Develop and maintain business / market analytics and sales metrics for divisional and business managers with a clear focus on accuracy and consistency of data
- Manage client coverage and conflict requests and liaise with Executive Office on cross-divisional requests
Required Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in a Finance, Accounting or Data Analytics role
- Strong problem solving skills and abilities, able to craft unique solutions with limited guidance; proactive in assessing dynamic situations
- Expert skills in Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, simple macros, etc.), PowerPoint (graphs/charts)
- Self-motivated and driven, someone looking for a steep growth curve
- Fast learner and effective communicator of new / complex information
- Ability to work at varying speeds and under timeframe pressure, while maintaining extremely high standards
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills: ability to build the trust and confidence of colleagues, strengthen relationships through ongoing dialogue and interactions, and collaborate well with others internally
- Project management skills; highly organized; attention to detail and excellent follow-through; able to define, structure and prioritize work, but with the flexibility to change priorities when circumstances dictate
- Confidence to challenge and be innovative; focus on identifying areas of improving efficiency through automation and scalability
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of analytics applications (i.e. Alteryx, Tableau, Qlik) and database tools (e.g. Elastic, MS SQL Server, Legend) a plus
