Golden Triangle Construction (GTC) is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex commercial construction projects throughout Colorado. For 49 years, GTC has built a reputation for delivering exceptional construction quality, personalized service, and lasting client relationships. As a full-service commercial general contractor, we specialize in projects that strengthen the communities where we live and work.

What makes GTC different? We're 100% employee-owned. Through our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), eligible employees have the opportunity to share in the company's success. We're small enough that you know the people you work with, yet established enough to offer challenging projects, meaningful career opportunities, and the chance to make a lasting impact.

At GTC, you're not just managing projects. You're helping build the future of a company you can own a part of.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a seasoned construction leader who brings the experience, judgment, and accountability expected of a Senior Project Manager, not an entry-level or developing project manager.

This position will take ownership of significant commercial construction projects, particularly within the public and institutional sectors, including municipal facilities, K–12 and higher education buildings, fire stations, and emergency services training facilities.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will provide leadership from preconstruction through project closeout, with primary responsibility for project financial performance, contract administration, scheduling, risk management, client relationships, and project team development. You'll work closely with company leadership, Superintendents, subcontractors, design professionals, and public-sector clients to deliver successful projects while protecting GTC's reputation, relationships, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Senior-Level Project Leadership

• Lead multiple commercial construction projects or large, complex assignments from preconstruction through final completion.
• Establish project execution strategies, budgets, schedules, staffing needs, and performance expectations.
• Make informed decisions that balance project profitability, quality, safety, client satisfaction, and long-term company interests.
• Provide leadership on public-sector and institutional projects, including occupied facilities, phased construction, and complex stakeholder requirements.

Financial & Contract Management

• Take primary responsibility for project budgets, profitability, financial forecasting, cost-to-complete reporting, and cash flow.
• Oversee progress billings, subcontractor payments, procurement, and financial reporting.
• Lead contract administration, including prime contracts, subcontractor agreements, purchase orders, and change orders.
• Identify and mitigate financial, contractual, and operational risks before they impact project performance.

Scheduling & Project Execution

• Partner with Superintendents to develop and maintain realistic construction schedules and milestone commitments.
• Coordinate project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and design professionals to maintain progress and resolve challenges.
• Ensure compliance with applicable project specifications, building codes, safety requirements, and contractual obligations.
• Oversee project closeout, owner turnover, warranty coordination, and final financial reconciliation.

Client Relationships & Business Leadership

• Serve as a primary point of contact for owners, municipalities, school districts, architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders.
• Lead project meetings, negotiations, issue resolution, and executive-level project reporting.
• Build long-term client relationships that support repeat business and GTC's continued growth.
• Support preconstruction efforts, project pursuits, and business development initiatives as needed.

Mentorship & Team Development

• Provide guidance, accountability, and mentorship to Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and Project Engineers.
• Collaborate with field leadership to promote teamwork, clear communication, and successful project delivery.
• Model GTC's employee-ownership culture by taking responsibility for results and supporting the success of the entire organization.

Qualifications & Experience

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible commercial construction project management experience, including substantial responsibility for project budgets, schedules, contracts, and client relationships.
• Demonstrated success independently leading complex commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Strong understanding of general contracting operations, construction methods, cost controls, scheduling, procurement, and contract administration.
• Proven ability to manage financial performance, negotiate contracts and change orders, and resolve complex project challenges.
• Experience leading and mentoring construction project teams.
• Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with construction management software and project reporting tools.
• Ability to work from GTC's Frederick, Colorado office and travel regularly to active Colorado jobsites.
• Ability and willingness to relocate to Colorado if currently residing outside the state.

Preferred Qualifications

• 10 or more years of commercial construction project management experience with a general contractor.
• Experience managing municipal facilities, public-sector construction, light industrial, K–12 or higher education facilities, fire stations, or emergency services buildings.
• Experience working with public agencies, school districts, architects, and municipal stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant construction experience.
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam~~,~~ Microsoft Project, or comparable platforms.
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects and developing junior project management professionals.

Base Salary: $120,000–$160,000 annually, based on experience, qualifications, and the responsibilities of the position.
