Job Description
About the Role
One of the entities of Golcha Associated Group is looking for a Maintenance Engineer to ensure the smooth and reliable operation of plant machinery and equipment. The role will be responsible for preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, troubleshooting, shutdown maintenance and equipment reliability, with a focus on minimizing downtime and ensuring uninterrupted production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute preventive and planned maintenance activities, including inspection, lubrication, servicing and component replacement.
- Attend and troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns and ensure timely restoration of equipment with minimum production downtime.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- Handle maintenance of pumps, compressors, conveyors, gearboxes, motors, blowers, fans, crushers, grinding/pulverizing equipment and other process equipment.
- Coordinate with Production for planned maintenance, breakdowns and shutdown/overhauling activities.
- Maintain equipment history, PM schedules, breakdown reports and maintenance records.
- Identify required spares and consumables and coordinate with Stores/Purchase for timely availability.
- Coordinate with technicians, fitters, electricians and external vendors during maintenance activities.
- Monitor equipment performance and support initiatives for MTBF improvement, MTTR reduction and downtime reduction.
- Support TPM, 5S, Kaizen and other continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with LOTO, work permits, PPE and other maintenance safety requirements.
- Support cost-effective maintenance planning and ensure timely completion of assigned activities.
Required Skills:
- Hands-on experience in mechanical/plant maintenance.
- Good knowledge of preventive, breakdown and shutdown maintenance.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of rotating equipment, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, motors and other process equipment.
- Understanding of RCA, MTBF and MTTR.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and equipment manuals.
- Good knowledge of maintenance safety practices, including LOTO and work permits.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
- ERP/CMMS knowledge will be an added advantage.
Educational Qualification:
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or relevant engineering discipline.
Candidate Preference:
- 3-4 years of relevant experience in plant/mechanical maintenance.
- Experience in mineral processing, mining, cement, chemical, ceramics, heavy engineering or other process/manufacturing industries will be preferred.
