Job Description
Summary: GlobalFoundries is a leading full-service semiconductor foundry providing design, development, and fabrication services. They are seeking a Field Application Engineering Intern responsible for providing technical support to customers and assisting in the evaluation and execution of technology solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Familiarize with GF technology offerings and deep dive with GF experts to learn technology features and differentiation
- Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to match GF technology offerings with customer requirements
- Assist customers with technical evaluation and tapeout execution partnering with GF subject matter experts
- Creation of customer-facing technical documentation on how GF technology solves their application / market needs
- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
Required Qualifications:
- Education – At least a junior or senior at time of application and actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering or related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship
- Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing
- Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)
- Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior related internship or co-op experience
- Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc
- Project management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong planning & organizational skills
- Course work in Circuit Design, Semiconductor device physics, Material Science
- Skills: Microsoft suite, EDA tools, Linux
