Manufacturing & Industrialization Engineer at GlassPoint · Stuttgart

GlassPoint helps heavy industry decarbonize by replacing fuel-based steam with solar thermal heat. This reduces energy costs and improves long-term energy security. We’re a proven technology, already operating some of the world’s largest solar steam projects across sun-belt regions in oil and gas, metals, and mining.

Help Accelerate Industrial Decarbonization

Join exceptional people from around the world to solve some of the world's toughest energy challenges, make a real impact, and enjoy the adventure of building the future of industrial decarbonization together.

As our Manufacturing & Industrialisation Engineer, you will help turn our proprietary solar-thermal technology into scalable, repeatable production systems that can be deployed around the world.

This is a hands-on technical role spanning two unique manufacturing environments: component production through external manufacturing partners, and the construction of large solar fields as disciplined, measurable production systems. Working with experienced colleagues, suppliers and project teams, you will contribute from early concepts and specifications through supplier delivery, commissioning, ramp-up and continuous improvement, taking increasing ownership as your capability grows.

Your Impact

Your work will help turn innovative engineering into reliable production and large-scale deployment.

You’ll shape how our technology is manufactured and deployed—from developing production processes and equipment to improving how solar fields are built in the field. Working across Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Project Delivery, Construction and HSE, you’ll help create safer, more efficient and repeatable ways of delivering our technology at scale.

What You'll Do

Develop Manufacturing Processes

• Support senior engineers in developing production concepts, equipment specifications, technical evaluations, trials and acceptance plans.
• Take increasing ownership of defined manufacturing processes, tooling packages, supplier actions and site-production workstreams as your capability grows.
• Develop manufacturing processes, machine concepts and equipment specifications for GlassPoint's proprietary concentrating mirrors and film panels.
• Apply DFMA, process capability, standard work, line balancing, cycle-time and capacity analysis to improve safety, quality, output and cost.

Build Tools and Production Systems

• Create clear process documentation, work instructions, layouts, standard work and equipment records.
• Help turn solar-field construction into a repeatable field-production system with defined workflows, work packages, tooling, crew structures and productivity measures.
• Develop or specify production equipment, tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges and handling solutions suited to factories and remote sites.
• Choose the right level of automation - from simple manual aids through mechanised tooling to automated equipment - based on volume, workforce capability, maintainability and economics.

Build Tools and Production Systems

• Work with external equipment builders, integrators and manufacturing partners through technical evaluation, design review, FAT, SAT, commissioning and ramp-up.
• Collect and analyse process data, cycle times, defects, downtime and labour productivity, turning evidence into practical improvement actions.
• Work across Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Project Delivery, Construction and HSE, capturing lessons and improving each subsequent deployment.

Commission and Continuously Improve

• Collect and analyse process data, cycle times, defects, downtime and labour productivity, turning evidence into practical improvement actions.
• Work across Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Project Delivery, Construction and HSE, capturing lessons and improving each subsequent deployment.

Who You Are

You’re a practical and curious engineer who wants to understand how products are made, how production systems work and how they can be improved.

You enjoy learning through direct experience in factories, supplier facilities and project sites. You’re reliable, adaptable and comfortable working through engineering problems, analysing data and getting hands-on with production processes and equipment. You’re ready to learn from experienced colleagues and take increasing ownership as your capability grows.

Ideally, you'll bring:

• Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Production Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Typically 10+ years of relevant manufacturing or industrialisation experience, with direct responsibility for production processes, equipment or line deployment.
• A strong record of specifying, procuring, commissioning and ramping production machinery, tooling or automated/semi-automated systems.
• Experience leading engineers, project teams or technical workstreams; formal people-management experience is desirable.
• Deep practical knowledge of DFMA, process capability, tolerancing, error-proofing, line balancing, standard work and continuous improvement.
• Confidence working with equipment builders, system integrators and outsourced manufacturers, including FAT and SAT.
• Experience with large assemblies, modular systems, construction operations or field-deployed production is highly desirable.
• Practical, commercially aware and comfortable making structured decisions with incomplete information.
• Strong English communication skills and willingness to travel internationally, sometimes for extended project phases.

What You'll Find at GlassPoint

• Real ownership and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact from day one.
• Exceptional colleagues from diverse disciplines who challenge, support, and learn from each other.
• Complex challenges that require curiosity, collaboration, and innovation.
• An international team united by a shared purpose and ambitious goals.
• The adventure of helping build the future of industrial decarbonization.
