The Inspector role involves verifying product characteristics and quality documentation through various inspection techniques, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Exemplifying a safety-first mind-set and ensuring that the GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards are followed
- Responsible for performing inspection processes as described by the product work instructions and/or other directions
- Responsible for performing first article inspections in line with site operating policies, procedures and work instructions
- Responsible for execution customer and regulatory delegated inspection processes as authorized by those parties. Responsible for maintaining those delegated authorities once granted
- Support root cause analysis, preventative and corrective action to reduce/eliminate non-conformances
- Maintain positive, team relationships with internal and external customers, as well as co-workers
- Support continuous improvement of production and inspection processes by implementing Lean initiatives
Required Qualifications:
- High school Diploma or GED Equivalent
- 1+ years of experience in inspection methods and techniques and following relevant work instructions
- 1+ years of experience with AS9100 series requirements
- 1+ years of experience working with LEAN processes and practices
- 1+ years of experience using computers and Microsoft office programs in a manufacturing environment for documentation and revisions
Preferred Qualifications:
- GKN Experience
- Experience in an Aerospace operating environment
- Apprenticeship, Associate's Degree in a technical subject or equivalent
- Awareness of AS9100 series requirements
- Previous delegated product acceptance authority granted by an Aerospace OEM or regulatory authority
- Familiarity with 3D model based Engineering
