Summary: Gilbane Building is a Top-10 ENR Contractor dedicated to shaping communities since 1870. They are seeking a VDC Engineer II to perform constructability and coordination tasks on projects using technology and processes, while working both in the office and on job sites as needed. Responsibilities: - Completes the quality checks and execution of day-to-day VDC project deliverables and processes - Communicates with internal and external project teams; facilitates meetings to resolve project issues, review schedules, or other project documentation - Assigns responsible party(s) for issue resolution; verifies and documents with meeting minutes, submittals, RFIs, and updated models - Utilizes 3D design software to identify, communicate, and resolve project challenges - Utilizes Reality Capture technology, such as laser scanning and drones, to support project deliverables - Combines all building discipline models into coordination model - Reviews the coordination model for constructability issues utilizing the software’s clash detection capabilities - Participates in Business Unit (BU) office and department activities including the orientation program, training sessions, and peer group meetings - Supports 1-3 VDC deliverables under supervision Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Building Information Modeling (BIM) or related field - 1-3 years of VDC Coordination experience - Strong problem-solving skills - Strong time-management and analytical skills - Strong knowledge and proficiency with BIM design software (Navisworks, Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, In-design) - Basic understanding of construction documentation - Knowledge of construction systems - Receptive and inquisitive about design concepts and integrated building components and systems - Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills - Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment - Knowledge of Baseline and Enterprise VDC standards Required Skills: BIM design software, VDC Coordination experience Important Skills: Construction documentation, Construction systems knowledge Nice-to-Have Skills: Team environment adaptability, VDC standards, time-management skills, Leadership skills Benefits: Competitive health and welfare benefits, Generous profit-sharing/401k plan, Education and training opportunities through Gilbane University
