Job Description
Summary: Giant Spoon is seeking an Experiential Design Intern for the summer to support their ambitious experiential projects. The role involves hands-on 3D design work and conceptual visual storytelling, ensuring projects meet design standards from conceptualization to execution.
Responsibilities:
- Execute environmental design tasks on assigned projects including creative conception (mood boards), floor plans, renderings, environmental graphics and construction/technical documentation
- Understand design systems and can adhere and iterate from them
- Help ensure visual and tonal fidelity to all brand guidelines and associated properties through environmental design
- Join meetings with outside vendors (e.g. animators, lighting designers, sound designers etc.) to help conceptualize and guide specialty design
- Value-engineer design according to shifting budget parameters as required
- As feasible, work on-site, partnering directly with fabricators/vendors to ensure that the finished product is reflective of creative intent
Required Qualifications:
- Pursuing a design career in Interior Design, Architecture, Experiential Design or Industrial Design
- Proficiency in spatial design and architectural rendering utilizing 3D modeling, visualization and rendering software such as, but not limited to – SketchUp, Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper, Maya, Autocad, 3DS Max, Vray. 3D modeling skills are required
- Quick learner with the ability to pick up new software
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Digitally connected, passionate about technology and innovation with an insatiable curiosity for how it applies to our industry
- Experience working with Google Suite (Gmail, Docs, Slides, Sheets) a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bonus points for foundations in graphic design
