PT Clerk - Meat - 0745 at Giant Food in Fairfax, VA

Summary: Giant Food has been serving the community for over 90 years, operating more than 160 stores in the Baltimore-Washington area. The Meat/Seafood Clerk will support the department by preparing, packaging, and displaying fresh meat and seafood products while ensuring excellent customer service and adherence to food safety standards.

Responsibilities:
- Assist shoppers with meat or seafood selections, answer product questions, and provide friendly service
- Prepare, package, weigh, and label meat and seafood items while ensuring freshness and quality
- Maintain clean cases and work areas, rotate stock, and follow all food safety and sanitation standards

Required Qualifications:
- Oral and written communication skills
- Commitment to providing excellent customer service
- Attention to detail
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Must meet minimum age requirements in accordance with federal, state, and local laws
- Flexibility to work a retail schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Fast-paced retail grocery store
- Frequent interaction with customers and team members
- May involve exposure to varying temperatures (e.g., near entrance or refrigerated areas)

Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience preferred
