Job Description
Summary: The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) is the nonprofit, applied research division of the Georgia Institute of Technology. The role involves supporting software development and test automation for defense programs, focusing on design, implementation, and testing of software applications.
Responsibilities:
- Designing software functions and classes
- Debugging software (IDE Debugging & Network Debugging)
- Documenting code changes, bugs, and user guidance for execution
- Testing software applications against expected behaviors
- Reviewing software code changes against coding standards and functionality expectations
Required Qualifications:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related Engineering Field
- Must have a 3.2 or higher GPA
- Part-Time Intern– Must be registered for 6+ credit hours
- Commit to 20 hours of work per week in the Orlando Field Office (Orlando, FL)
- Experience in 1 programming language
- Able to work in-office in Orlando, FL
- Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens
- Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in 2 or more programming/scripting languages
- Clear communicator, written and oral
- Strong math skills and ability to learn complex engineering concepts
- Experience in hardware, software, or firmware development methodologies and structured approaches to system development
- Works well individually and in a group setting
