Description
We are seeking a licensed and compassionate Optometrist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care to patients, including vision exams, diagnosis and management of ocular diseases, and prescribing corrective lenses. This individual should demonstrate clinical excellence, patient-centered care, and a collaborative spirit with other healthcare providers and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive eye exams and vision tests for patients of all ages
Diagnose and manage ocular diseases, including glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and dry eye
Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other visual aids
Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals on co-management of patients
Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgery
Educate patients on proper eye care, contact lens hygiene, and vision health
Document patient diagnoses, treatment plans, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
Maintain current knowledge of optometric techniques, treatments, and technology
Participate in continuing education and training programs as required by licensing boards
Support the optical retail team by providing lens prescriptions and guidance on eyewear recommendations when needed
Requirements
Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry school
Active and unrestricted optometry license in Georgia
Current DEA registration (if applicable)
Strong diagnostic skills and a thorough understanding of ocular anatomy and pathology
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to patient care and clinical excellence
Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
Proficiency with EMR systems preferred
Minimum of 1-3 years in clinical optometry (new graduates will be considered)
Experience with specialty contact lens fitting, low vision therapy, or pediatric optometry is a plus
Work Environment:
Standard clinical setting within a multi-specialty ophthalmic and optical practice
May require travel between clinic locations depending on organizational needs
Work Schedule:
Standard hours: Monday through Friday
Typical daily schedule: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
No weekends or on-call duties required
