How Will You Add Value

The Team Lead is an entry level managerial role in our ONS team responsible for managing a team of lab technicians' staff locally. The team lead is also responsible for tracking personnel KPI's and providing feedback for improvement. They ensure that we are fully equipped with all consumables, materials, and equipment to keep operations running. They ensure the lab is following EHS guidelines as well as that the team is up to date on our SOP's as they are revised. You will participate in hiring and onboarding and offboarding activities for team members in conjunction with HR and management. You will be key in mentoring, coaching, and developing your team members to promote a high performing, results-oriented, and engaged work culture.
What You’ll Do
Lead, manage and develop team of Lab Technicians and Associate Scientists
Mentor, coach and develop team members to promote a high performing, result-oriented, and engaged work culture.
Meet regularly with direct reports in at least biweekly check-ins to discuss development, performance, disciplinary actions, and address employee relations issues. Have monthly/quarterly meetings to review employee KPI’s and discuss improvements when needed.
Hiring, Onboarding, goal setting, performance evaluations, and off-boarding activities of team members in conjunction with HR.
Maintains adequate inventory of consumables, materials, and laboratory equipment. Coordinates with Finance for consumables tracking.
Interfaces with employee health and safety and acts as a liaison between departments and the scientific staff to complete lab modifications and ensure safety compliance.
Ensures team is up to date and implementing the newest version of SOPs.
Capable of applying laboratory skills to assist Lab Technicians in processing needs.
Work with LOB head for KPI management and new product initiatives.
Leads process development projects. Meets with stakeholders to gain consensus and move deliverables forward.
Other duties as assigned.
What You Will Bring
(requirements and preferred requirements)
High School Diploma Required, Associate's or Bachelor's Degree Preferred .
At least 2+ years of managerial experience in small to medium laboratory required; 3+ years of managerial experience preferred.
Ability to lift 30 lbs
The position requires both sitting and standing for 3 hours a day.
Must be able to bend, twist and walk for extended periods of time.
Basic understanding of facilities and EHS required
Basic understanding of financial acumen like accounting and cost management principles required
Previous management training required
Experience in production and manufacturing settings preferred.

United States Base Compensation: $65,000.00 - $88,000.00The posted pay range for this position is an estimate based on current market data and internal pay structure. Final compensation may vary above or below this range depending on factors such as experience, education (including licensure and certifications), qualifications, performance, and geographic location, among other relevant business or organizational needs.
