In this role, students support the management, integration, and control of aircraft technical data, training data, and materiel information supporting a complex aviation defence program. These roles provide hands-on experience with aircraft data management, configuration control, logistics support, and lifecycle sustainment activities. Students gain exposure to mission-critical aircraft systems, Prime Mission Equipment (PME), training devices, and maintenance programs supporting aircraft acceptance, transition, and in-service support for Canada.
Key Responsibilities
Support the management, review, and integration of aircraft technical data and supporting materials within approved record-keeping and configuration management systems.
Assist project and engineering teams in collecting, controlling, and maintaining data required to support aircraft, Prime Mission Equipment (PME), training devices, and modification or repair activities.
Contribute to logistics, materiel management, and lifecycle support activities, including the identification of required spares, support equipment, and sustainment data.
Support coordination with internal teams, industry partners, and government stakeholders through participation in meetings, working groups, and documentation activities.
Assist with the development and maintenance of training data, technical publications, and supporting documentation for aircraft and ground systems.
Prepare and support the delivery of scheduled and ad hoc reports, data packages, and technical summaries.
Support aircraft maintenance and airworthiness teams by managing data and documentation required for aircraft acceptance and transition to In-Service Support (ISS).
qualifications
Required
Currently enrolled in an avionics diploma, engineering program, or equivalent technical program at a Canadian college or university.
Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, configuration control, and data integrity.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, with minimal supervision.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Enthusiastic, willing to learn, and takes ownership of assigned work.
Assets
Understanding of basic aircraft systems, maintenance programs, and airworthiness principles.
Exposure to configuration management, data management, or technical documentation practices.
Familiarity with logistics support, materiel management, or lifecycle sustainment concepts.
Understanding of computer systems, RF communications, or information technology environments.
Systems-thinking mindset, with the ability to view aircraft and support environments as a system of systems.
Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
Experience working with or familiarity with AI/ML models is preferred.
It is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. Successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements, including but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance. Applicants may be required to meet additional security requirements in order to gain access to technical data, classified areas or information that is subject to international regulations. You must be eligible to work in Canada.

Compensation
The expected hourly rate for this position is $21.20 – $33.23. Final compensation will be determined based on your relevant work experience to date. As part of student placement, you will be eligible for quarterly pay increases.
