Summary: General Dynamics Information Technology is a global technology and professional services company, and they are seeking a Sheet Metal Fabricator to join their team. The role involves operating CNC machinery, interpreting drawings, and ensuring quality standards in the fabrication of sheet metal products. Responsibilities: - Operation of CNC cutting machinery, i.e. Punch Press, Fiber Laser, Omax Water jet - Deburring, drilling, and sanding of parts produced - Loading/unloading material from machines and material racks - Operation of Press Brake to form complex assemblies - Interpretation of drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of products - Coordinating daily work with direct supervisor - Inspection of completed work for quality standards and GDIT conformance requirements - Perform preventative maintenance and upkeep to machine and workstation - Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications: - 1 + years of related experience - US Citizenship Required: Yes - High School Diploma/GED - Basic knowledge of shop machinery, hand and power tools - Basic reading, writing, and math skills - Ability to read blueprints - Ability to work within a small, motivated team - Knowledge of precision measuring instruments (i.e.: calipers, micrometers, gages, etc.) - Ability to lift 50lbs - Ability to stand for an 8 hour shift minimum - Must be able to obtain forklift certification - Ability to obtain & maintain a Secret security clearance Preferred Qualifications: - Previous operation of Fiber laser, Waterjet, Punch or Press Brake Required Skills: Blueprint Reading, CNC Machine Operation, Fiber Laser Operation, Waterjet Operation, Punch Press Operation, Press Brake Operation, Precision Measuring Instruments, Deburring, Drilling, Sanding, Forklift Certification Benefits: Comprehensive benefits and wellness packages, 401K with company match, Variety of medical plan options, some with Health Savings Accounts, Dental plan options, Vision plan, Full flex work weeks, Variety of paid time off plans, including vacation, sick and personal time, holidays, paid parental, military, bereavement and jury duty leave, Short and long-term disability benefits, Life, accidental death and dismemberment, personal accident, critical illness and business travel and accident insurance
