Summary: Gelber Group LLC is a proprietary trading firm headquartered in Chicago, seeking a highly motivated individual for a summer internship focused on building a Custom Reporting Framework within their Backoffice system. The intern will design a web-based interface for generating financial statements, collaborating with stakeholders to enhance usability and efficiency. Responsibilities: - Design and build a web-based UI for generating custom financial reports - Enable users to pull from flexible data sources, including trades, positions, pricing, and fees - Implement filtering, sorting, grouping, and transformation capabilities within reports - Allow users to save report configurations for future use, with potential scheduling capabilities - Partner directly with Accounting and Settlement stakeholders to gather requirements and validate outputs - Deliver a production-ready component integrated into our Backoffice infrastructure - Produce clear technical and user documentation and present your results at the end of the internship Required Qualifications: - Progress toward a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or related field (Junior standing or higher preferred) - Strong problem-solving ability and comfort working in an existing codebase - Familiarity with web fundamentals (HTTP methods, client-server architecture, HTML/CSS) - At least 1 year of experience using C# and/or Java - Curiosity, self-motivation, and strong communication skills—especially when working with non-technical stakeholders Preferred Qualifications: - Exposure to TypeScript and React is beneficial - Interest in financial markets is helpful, but not required Required Skills: C#, Java, Web fundamentals, TypeScript, React, Financial systems, Reporting workflows Internship Start Date: Start in 2026 Summer Benefits: Catered lunch provided Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursdays and stocked pantry daily, Social events and work/life balance that will allow you time to enjoy the Chicago summer, Office amenities including a golf simulator, pool table, and company paid on-site gym, Casual, relaxed dress code, Comprehensive benefits package available for full-time employees
