Our work depends on a Project Coordinator – Intern joining our team to support the Indian Health Service (IHS) Electronic Health Records Modernization (EHRM) program. As a Project Coordinator – Intern supporting the IHS EHRM program, you will assist with project coordination activities, documentation, scheduling, and workflow tracking across technical, clinical, and PMO teams.
HOW A PROJECT COORDINATOR – INTERN WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
• Assist in coordinating project activities, schedules, and resources to support delivery of program goals and outcomes.
• Help track project milestones, tasks, and dependencies; maintain documentation and status updates with guidance from senior team members.
• Support the preparation of meeting minutes, progress summaries, and other project reports.
• Assist in maintaining project document repositories, organizing artifacts, and ensuring files remain updated.
• Provide administrative and coordination support to help ensure projects run smoothly and remain aligned with program requirements.
• Support system workflow tasks, including project-related data entry and updating project logs.
• Help monitor timelines and identify potential delays or issues; escalate concerns to project leadership as needed.
• Assist in coordinating communications across various functional teams.
• Support quality and compliance efforts by reviewing documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Participate in analyzing project workflows and identifying opportunities to streamline task execution or improve efficiency.
• Gain hands-on experience in project coordination, documentation practices, and workflow management within a large federal program environment.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s degree in business, project management, healthcare administration, information systems, or related field.
• Strong interest in project coordination, scheduling, workflow management, or PMO support.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
• Ability to follow structured processes and maintain accurate documentation.
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Level 5 clearance.
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the year, if needed.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Coursework or projects related to project management or process improvement.
• Experience (academic or volunteer) coordinating tasks, managing schedules, or supporting team activities.
• Ability to manage changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Professional is a plus.
• Ability to produce clear, organized documentation that supports project success.
• Ability to work independently with guidance while meeting deadlines.

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $22.95 - $31.05. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
