Civil Engineer Intern - Bridge at GBA in Lenexa, KS

Summary: GBA Companies is an engineering firm focused on innovative, high-quality solutions and integrated design and construction. The Civil Engineering Intern will support bridge design and modeling, quality control, calculations, cost estimating, and construction inspections while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and learning from experienced engineers.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with design and 3D modeling of bridges
- Support quality control processes and follow client design standards
- Assist with design calculations and geometric layout
- Help prepare plan quantities and cost estimates
- Participate in field assignments such as construction inspections
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplined design team
- Engage in an active learning environment with mentorship from experienced engineers
- Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
- * Pursuing BS or MS in Civil Engineering or other related field from accredited program
- * Finished at least two years of school
- * Involved in campus, community, and other volunteer activities and/ or organization
- * Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- * Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- * Ability to sit, stand, walk around the office for extended periods
- * Ability to lift up to 10 pounds

Preferred Qualifications:
- * Experience with AutoCAD and Excel software is preferred
- * Experience with transportation and bridge related projects or internships is preferred
- * 2.7 GPA strongly preferred
