Job Description
Summary: Gallup is a company dedicated to changing the world through extraordinary analytics and advice. As a Survey Data Operations Analyst, you will build and automate data workflows that transform complex survey data into reliable datasets, ensuring data quality and collaborating with various internal teams.
Responsibilities:
- Build and support data pipelines that ingest raw sample files, vendor files, API data and operational data and transform them into clean outputs for analysis and reporting
- Organize respondent, project, survey, client and operational data into consistent and reusable datasets
- Develop and maintain databases containing panelist, respondent and operational data
- Validate data quality by checking completeness, accuracy, formatting and consistency and troubleshooting missing data, duplicates, file issues and schema changes
- Ensure secure handling of sensitive and personally identifiable information
- Automate manual and repetitive tasks by creating reusable scripts, templates, validation checks and scheduled jobs
- Support workflows that move survey data into structured folders and reporting environments
- Collaborate with analysts, methodologists, survey programmers, project managers, QA partners and other internal teams to translate business and research requirements into practical data solutions
- Learn and apply survey data operations concepts including how sample, fielding and response data move through Gallup’s research processes
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, data analytics, mathematics, statistics, business, social science, market research or a related field required
- Experience with Python, SQL and Excel required
- A commitment to working on-site at Gallup's Omaha office at least three days per week required
- Must currently reside within a 250-mile radius of Omaha, Nebraska
- Eligibility to work in the United States required; this position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with R, APIs, Linux or command-line environments preferred
- Experience building automated or repeatable data processes preferred
- Experience working with structured data files or databases preferred
- Exposure to survey or research data environments and interest in learning about survey research and data operations preferred
