Our client, a national engineering and architecture firm, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for complex commercial buildings. Work from the Raleigh office with hybrid flexibility, take ownership of technical decisions, and help develop junior engineers.

An active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering is required.

Responsibilities

• Guide electrical system design from initial planning through construction, including engineering calculations, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Review design documents for accuracy, code compliance, and coordination across building systems.
• Partner with mechanical, civil, structural, and environmental engineers to deliver integrated designs.
• Support construction through site visits, submittal reviews, and resolution of technical questions.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with clients and project teams.
• Manage engineering schedules, resources, and budgets while maintaining quality standards.

Required Qualifications

• Active PE license in Electrical Engineering.
• A background spanning at least 10 years in engineering design and project management, with substantial commercial MEP experience.
• Experience with electrical building systems and coordination involving mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection disciplines.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large or technically complex projects.
• Strong skills in construction documentation, technical calculations, specifications, and quality control.
• An engineering bachelor’s or master’s degree from an ABET-accredited program.
