Job Description
We're partnering with a leading global hedge fund to enhance its US trade and transaction reporting framework. The firm has mature reporting processes and infrastructure in place and is seeking an experienced specialist to own one or more US reporting obligations and manage the associated change portfolio.
Candidates must bring deep subject-matter expertise and demonstrable end-to-end ownership experience in at least one of the following:
- Consolidated Audit Trail (CAT) and Electronic Blue Sheets (EBS)
- CFTC swap data reporting
- OFR non-centrally cleared bilateral repo reporting
Genuine depth in a single obligation is sufficient, and broader regulatory reporting experience is welcome. Scope will be aligned to the successful candidate's expertise.
This is a hands-on role combining regulatory interpretation and BAU oversight with business analysis, data investigation, testing and continuous improvement. The role is based full-time in the firm's New York office.
Key Responsibilities
Own one or more US reporting obligations end to end, maintaining detailed knowledge of scope, reportability, field-level requirements, data sourcing, enrichment logic, timelines and vendor mappings
Act as the principal point of expertise on current implementation, BAU reporting and upcoming regulatory change
Conduct horizon scanning and assess the impact of regulatory, technical and industry developments
Maintain clear, auditable traceability from regulation through to requirements, data mappings, controls and technical implementation
Oversee daily BAU metrics, identifying exceptions, rejects and breaks, and escalating where aged exceptions fall outside risk appetite
Advise Regulatory Operations and coordinate responses to regulator enquiries in partnership with Compliance
Respond to reporting queries from brokers, reporting agents, repositories, vendors and other counterparties
Assess new products, instruments and business activities for US reporting impact
Lead reporting change from impact assessment through requirements, Jira documentation, testing, UAT and post-production validation
Analyse front-to-back data flows, performing root-cause analysis and partnering with Technology and Operations on sustainable fixes
Manage reconciliations between internal books and records and external submissions
Engage with external infrastructure including FINRA CAT, CAT Reporting Agents, Swap Data Repositories and the OFR Data Collection Utility
Contribute to the target-state reporting roadmap, with a focus on control maturity, automation and exception reduction
Deep, hands-on ownership experience in at least one of CAT and EBS, CFTC swap data reporting (Parts 43 and 45) or OFR non-centrally cleared bilateral repo reporting
Background as an obligation owner, reporting SME, Lead BA or Change Manager within a hedge fund, broker-dealer, investment bank, swap dealer or comparable capital markets firm
Detailed knowledge of your obligation's rules, field-level requirements, data mappings, lifecycle events and exception management, alongside the relevant products and front-to-back trade lifecycles
Proven oversight of BAU reporting metrics and exceptions, including responding to regulators, Compliance and audit
Strong change delivery skills, from impact assessment and requirements through Jira, testing, UAT and post-production validation
Hands-on SQL and root-cause analysis, with familiarity in relevant identifiers and formats such as LEIs, UTIs, UPIs, FDIDs, FpML and FIX
Experience working with repositories, reporting agents and vendors, and delivering sustainable process and control improvements
Excellent stakeholder skills and a strong sense of ownership, with the confidence to act as the firm's principal specialist for your obligation
Length: initial 12 month contract, with strong likelihood of being made permanent with the client if high performer
