Apply Description At Freeman Boatworks, we build premium, high-performance offshore fishing boats with a focus on quality, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. We’re looking for a hands-on Pre-Rigging Technician who takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a fast-paced manufacturing environment. In this role, you’ll work directly with fiberglass components and rigging systems—wetting/laying glass, grinding, cutting, installing fittings, and running hoses to support the build process. You’ll play a key role in preparing each boat for final assembly while maintaining high quality standards. What You’ll Be Doing · Wet/lay fiberglass, grind, and cut holes in decks, hulls, and components · Install fittings (including ball valves) and run hoses as part of the rigging process · Use hand and power tools (drills, screw guns, ratchets, etc.) to complete assigned work · Measure, mark, and inspect parts to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met · Troubleshoot, repair, and rework components as needed · Work closely with the Rig Lead, Engineering, and Quality teams to meet production goals · Follow standardized work instructions, job instructions (JI), and quality criteria · Assist with equipment setup, adjustments, and changeovers · Maintain a clean and organized work area · Stay flexible—move between areas as needed based on production demands What We’re Looking For · Experience using hand and power tools in a manufacturing or mechanical environment · Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic measurements accurately · Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects or issues · Ability to work independently and stay on task · Problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot with minimal supervision · Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to jump in where needed Work Environment & Physical Requirements · Regular exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and moving equipment in a manufacturing setting · Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs without assistance · Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and overhead work · Ability to work extended shifts, including overtime as needed · Comfortable working in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment · Must safely use required PPE, including eye protection, gloves, and respirators as needed What We Offer · Competitive weekly pay · Paid time off plus paid holidays · Comprehensive benefits: medical, dental, vision, company-paid life and disability insurance, and more · 401(k) with company match · A people-focused workspace built on teamwork and innovation Please note: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
