Job Description
Summary: Foxconn Industrial Internet (FII) is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer who will be responsible for ensuring quality standards are met in collaboration with suppliers and internal teams. The role involves developing supplier relationships, conducting audits, and supporting new product development processes to maintain quality and efficiency in manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain trusting relationships with the assigned suppliers as well as our internal stakeholders
- Assess supplier capability via site visits and process audits for compliance to regulations, agreements, standards, and documented processes
- Collaboratively qualify processes with Suppliers, Design Engineers, Supplier Quality Team and Incoming Inspection Team
- Actively participate in and lead new product development teams as it relates to supplier quality to support product and process design and development activities via leading the supplier risk management process
- Support the review/approve product and process change control documentation and specifications as it relates to assigned suppliers
- Manage NCR/MRB activities
- First article sampling and reporting
- Develops Inspection Instructions/Techniques
- Statistical analysis if required
- SPC dimensional monitoring for production if required
- Leading and coaching IQC inspectors
- Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support business objectives
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline
- A minimum of 6 months experience at Quality Engineering in a fast paced and high growth manufacturing environment
- Understanding of mechanical drawing (specification)
- Knowledge of GD&T is a plus
- Knowledge and experience with Root Cause Analysis
- The position may require travel
- You have experience launched, into volume production, complex components and assemblies using quality planning from prototype through mass production stages
- You have actively participated in a product development effort and thus know what it takes to transition from prototype to volume production
- You have a good understanding of and have successfully implemented gates within a product development process
- Strong problem-solving abilities to solve supplier issues
- Understanding of mechanical specification
- Experienced dealing suppliers
