The Body Controls - Climate Software Design and Release Engineer will work on climate electronic controls, software integration, and program management to enhance the customer experience for electric vehicle users. Responsibilities: - Engineer for climate electronic controls HMI and Electronic control module - Evaluate program definition and work with feature teams to determine content and market variations - Lead Statement of Work/RFQ package completion software integration - Communicate with Design studio on concepts and engineering feasibility - Connect with the Studio for Class A Surface Development - HMI - Communicate with Electrical team and support program results - Define electrical interfaces related to software - Conduct design reviews with interfacing Ford activities, vehicle package, core EESE climate electronics and supplier engineering (e.g. software, .) - Lead program specific Failure Mode Avoidance (DFMEA) - Support software development - Lead software release process and software change management - Provide vehicle build software support (e.g. BOM validation, BreadBoards, HIL, Development builds, Pilot builds, etc.) - Manage software Engineering changes - Support vehicle testing - Lead quality/warranty analysis and corrective actions Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in Engineering - 6+ months of experience in the automotive industry (co-op/internship experience allowed) Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering - 3+ years of related experience - Experience with Software program management - Understanding of electronic and/or vehicle systems - Familiar with CAN tools (e.g. Vehicle spy, CANalyzer, CANoe, etc.) - Must be a motivated self-starter with the goal of delivering a quality part on time Required Skills: Software program management, Electronic controls engineering, HMI (Human Machine Interface), Electronic control module, Electrical interfaces, Design reviews, Failure Mode Avoidance (DFMEA), Software integration, Software release process, Software change management, Vehicle systems, CAN tools, Motivated self-starter Benefits: Immediate medical, dental, vision and prescription drug coverage, Flexible family care days, paid parental leave, new parent ramp-up programs, subsidized back-up child care and more, Family building benefits including adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement, fertility treatments, and more, Vehicle discount program for employees and family members and management leases, Tuition assistance, Established and active employee resource groups, Paid time off for individual and team community service, A generous schedule of paid holidays, including the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day, Paid time off and the option to purchase additional vacation time.
