Job Description
Summary: Ford Motor Company is focused on transforming the future of transportation with its Electric Vehicles, Digital and Design team. The Body Controls - Climate Software Design and Release Engineer will work on climate electronic controls, software integration, and program management to enhance the customer experience for electric vehicle users.
Responsibilities:
- Engineer for climate electronic controls HMI and Electronic control module
- Evaluate program definition and work with feature teams to determine content and market variations
- Lead Statement of Work/RFQ package completion software integration
- Communicate with Design studio on concepts and engineering feasibility
- Connect with the Studio for Class A Surface Development - HMI
- Communicate with Electrical team and support program results
- Define electrical interfaces related to software
- Conduct design reviews with interfacing Ford activities, vehicle package, core EESE climate electronics and supplier engineering (e.g. software, .)
- Lead program specific Failure Mode Avoidance (DFMEA)
- Support software development
- Lead software release process and software change management
- Provide vehicle build software support (e.g. BOM validation, BreadBoards, HIL, Development builds, Pilot builds, etc.)
- Manage software Engineering changes
- Support vehicle testing
- Lead quality/warranty analysis and corrective actions
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- 6+ months of experience in the automotive industry (co-op/internship experience allowed)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- 3+ years of related experience
- Experience with Software program management
- Understanding of electronic and/or vehicle systems
- Familiar with CAN tools (e.g. Vehicle spy, CANalyzer, CANoe, etc.)
- Must be a motivated self-starter with the goal of delivering a quality part on time
