SEND Teaching Assistant at Flourish Education Ltd in Berkeley GL13 9NA

We are recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a primary school based in Berkeley. This SEN Teaching Assistant role will involve working within the school's SEN provision base, supporting a range of Key Stage 1 pupils with additional needs.

The children within the provision have a range of complex and varied needs, and the successful candidate will provide support with their learning, development, communication and engagement throughout the school day. The role will involve working as part of a wider team, alongside the class teacher and other classroom support staff, to provide a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.

This role is full-time and is a long-term fixed contract. The successful candidate will have experience supporting children with additional needs and be confident working with pupils who may have complex SEN. Experience working within a specialist provision or SEN setting would be advantageous, although is not essential.

Required Skills and Experience for this SEN Teaching Assistant Role:

• Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification.

• Have experience working with children with SEN, ideally within a primary school setting.

• Have experience supporting children with a range of additional and complex needs.

• Be confident supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 (KS1).

• Have a good understanding of how to support children with additional needs to access learning.

• Be patient, calm and adaptable when working with children with complex needs.

• Be able to work effectively as part of a wider classroom team alongside the class teacher and other support staff.

• Have a DBS registered on the Update Service or one that was issued within the last 12 months.

• Be able to provide a minimum of two excellent references.

• Have recent UK school-based experience.
