Job Description
Summary: Flock Safety is the leading safety technology platform, helping communities thrive by taking a proactive approach to crime prevention and security. They are seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern to gain hands-on experience in the design, analysis, testing, and development of mechanical systems and components used in Flock’s products.
Responsibilities:
- Support the design, analysis, testing, and development of mechanical systems and components used in Flock’s products
- Assist with CAD-based design
- Perform engineering analyses such as stress and thermal calculations
- Support prototype fabrication and assembly
- Participate in testing and evaluation of new and existing designs
- Contribute to real-world projects by assisting with materials and component selection, technical documentation, system-level troubleshooting, and participation in design reviews and brainstorming sessions
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles and concepts
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities
- Basic understanding of materials and manufacturing processes
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently when needed
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) is preferred
- Experience with 3D printers and basic machine shop tools
