The Software Engineer I will design, develop, test, and maintain systems that enhance the logistics and supply chain experience, working collaboratively with teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. Responsibilities: - Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain systems that represent the real-world intricacies of logistics entities, such as packing lists, booking notifications, and routing guides - Contribute to code reviews to maintain code quality, share knowledge, and learn from other team members - Collaborate with business partners and product managers to translate complex business problems into elegant technical solutions - Build highly available, secure, and distributed systems within a microservices architecture - Work collaboratively with peer teams on cross-team projects, building solutions that add new functionality to multiple Flexport systems - Rapidly build and launch products incrementally, leveraging best practices around CI/CD to facilitate development - Ensure high-quality standards by incorporating metrics and applying learnings from post-mortems to all services Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience - 1+ years of professional experience in full-stack development with demonstrated coding skills - Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Java, Python, Ruby, or Node.js - Proficiency with technologies like databases, API development, and testing frameworks - Proficiency with deploying, monitoring, and maintaining production services Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with elements of our tech stack: Java, Spring Boot, Ruby on Rails, React, AWS - A bias for action; when you see a problem, you fix it - Ability to convey technical ideas in common terms to business stakeholders, product managers, and engineers alike - Excellent written communication skills.
