Job Description
Summary: Flatiron Construction is seeking an IT Field Specialist I to provide second-level IT support to users across multiple offices and remote locations. The role involves troubleshooting and maintaining PC hardware/software, collaborating with IT management, and ensuring efficient operations of the company's desktop computing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Installs, diagnoses, repairs, maintains, troubleshoots, and upgrades all PC hardware/software and related equipment, including occasional troubleshooting of network components such as routers, firewalls, switches, servers, access control systems, wireless access points, UPSs, printers, multifunctional devices, and phone systems
- Interfaces with regional IT management on projects, remote jobsite setups and teardowns, and resolves outstanding issues
- Responds to ITSM-based tickets, performing on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex desktop problems for end-users, and recommends and implements corrective solutions
- Installs, configures, tests, maintains, and troubleshoots user workstations, mobile devices (phones, tablets, etc.), and related hardware/software to meet required service levels
- Collaborates with system engineers to ensure efficient operations of the company’s desktop computing environment
- Maintains an inventory of technology equipment
- Coordinates and liaises with LECs, ISPs, and cabling contractors
- Assists in developing technical and procedural documentation as needed
- Acts as a business liaison to communicate business needs to IT management
Required Qualifications:

- Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, Active Directory, current technology protocols and procedures, and networking concepts/principles
- Problem solving and critical thinking skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred
- Related experience preferred
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), A+ Certification, Network+ Certification preferred
