Job Description
Summary: Five9 is a leading provider of cloud contact center software, bringing the power of cloud innovation to customers worldwide. They are seeking a Financial Analyst Intern to contribute to the Finance department by tracking key performance indicators, delivering financial analyses, and preparing budgets and forecasts of expenses.
Responsibilities:
- Create deeply thoughtful analyses and presentations to communicate strategic recommendations
- Distill huge amounts of data into actionable insights and trends
- Design, implement and track important financial and operating metrics, benchmarking performance against strategic goals
- Prepare materials for key stakeholders, including Five9's executive team, Board of Directors and investors
- Assist in preparation of budgets and forecasts of expenses. Monitor key trends, assumptions on headcount, capital expenditures and operating expenses
- Prepare monthly / quarterly budget vs. actual variance analysis
- Work closely with accounting team in monthly close process to ensure timeliness and accuracy of entries
- Leverage Five9 financial systems to automate and scale current processes and reports
- Participate in new Strategic Finance and FP&A initiatives, including ad hoc analysis and process improvement
- Collaborate across internal teams to gather reports and data
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting or a highly analytical field (i.e. Engineering, Math)
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint (GCP, BigQuery, & SQL experience a plus)
- Exceedingly strong analytical acumen and financial modeling capabilities
- Detail-oriented and systematic approach resulting in high levels of accuracy
- High level of integrity, professionalism, motivation and attention to detail
- Ability to succeed with proactivity and self-starter mentality
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- A team player with strong organization skills, including ability to manage multiple projects / competing priorities under tight deadlines in parallel
- Must be able to work onsite at the San Ramon, CA., headquarters this summer
