Job Description
Summary: Five Below is a dynamic retail company that focuses on providing a fun and engaging shopping experience. They are seeking interns for their Summer Internship Program, where participants will engage in strategic projects and contribute to company initiatives in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Help shape how we bring celebrations to life in our stores
- Develop a practical, store-tested point of view on how balloon appointment scheduling should work at the front end of our stores
- Conduct in-store observations, conversations with store leaders and WowCrew, and competitor research to explore how scheduled balloon orders are currently managed and where opportunities exist to improve the experience for both customers and store teams
- Translate real-world observations into clear recommendations for how balloon orders should be scheduled, staged, and managed in-store
- Create practical tools to support store execution, including a draft process guide for store teams and a ready-to-use analog balloon appointment book
Required Qualifications:
- Must be actively enrolled as rising Junior, Senior, Grad Student or recent Grad with a relevant background; ideally studying Operations, Process Design, Retail Management or similar. Those studying under an associate's or certificate program may be considered if coursework and skills fit the individual project requirements
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Must be comfortable with Microsoft Office products & remote meeting software
- Must be available for the full 10-week program as space is limited
- Must be a self-starter, highly passionate & detail oriented
- Active ability to problem solve & communicate effectively
- Knowledge and passion for our brand is a plus!
Preferred Qualifications:
- Interest and experience in Retail Operations, Process Design, or Customer Experience
- Ability to travel to local stores, and interact with frontline store teams
- Observant + detail oriented
- Capable of turning ambiguous information into simple, actionable solutions
- Comfort presenting to varying levels of leadership
