To develop and interrogate detailed cost and profitability models, providing actionable insights that support operational decision-making and enable forward-looking financial planning. This role ensures the integrity of cost data, identifies trends and variances, and translates financial information into meaningful recommendations that enhance business performance and resource optimisation.
Are you someone who can:
Re-imagining costing models to benefit and promote the adoption of platform across Retail, Commercial, Broader Africa and even external users.
Execution of costing models monthly
Volume verification for input into costing models
Reporting to stakeholders, and query resolution
Responsible for running the budget and forecast costing models to charge business stakeholders
Managing and reporting on the cost per service and the associated rate and volumes
Analyse and query incoming SLA charges for accuracy & validity
Identification and tracking of key business KPI’s for each of the different teams and for the overall business.
Play the role of a business partner and collaborating with different teams across the group to ensure financial requirements are met.
Prepare bespoke monthly reporting which will assist in highlighting areas of focus that enhance decision making. Includes preparation of Exco, Manco and Opsco reporting packs.
Evaluate processes within all these teams in order to streamline them.
Implement internal controls, policies & procedures.
Assisting junior staff to implement processes and how to “work smarter”
Assist with any ad-hoc projects (finance or business) that may be assigned from time to time
Prevent wastage and identify process improvements to contain and reduce costs.
Provide input into costing projects involving a segment, business unit, function or country/region (as applicable).
Influence creative business solutions, optimise processes and inform strategic decisions through cost modelling and data analysis.
Build, run and execute profitability models and provide required reports for business.
Provide feedback to the business on monthly and ad hoc analysis and reports to support decision making.
Build and calculate cost models and work within established work and service processes.
Conduct review and scenario planning to provide guidance on budgetary process in terms of spend and forecast adjustments.
Develop new insights into situations and apply innovative solutions to make organisational improvements.
Provide input into the development of the tactical strategy and develop and implement a supporting operational strategy.
Build working relationships across teams and functional lines to enhance work delivery, collaboration and innovation.
Deliver internal and external customer service excellence through adherence to quality service standards.
Continuously assess own performance through seeking timely, and clear feedback and request training where appropriate.
What you will need:
Bcom Cost and Management Accounting
CIMA
Newly qualified CA(SA) willing to get exposure in a tech environment
Experience in managing people
Advanced Excel knowledge and experience
PowerPoint knowledge and experience
SQL & PowerBI knowledge an advantage
