Job Description
Summary: First Interstate BancSystem is offering an internship opportunity for participants in their Internship Program. Interns will engage in forecasting cycles, performance reporting, and variance analysis, gaining insights into the banking industry while developing analytical skills and business acumen.
Responsibilities:
- Contributes to the assigned department’s success by providing professional, reliable, and flexible support and assistance on various assigned tasks and projects
- Partners with the manager to create three goals relating to the outcome of the internship
- Gains a comprehensive view of how a growing financial services company operates
- Builds a strong network through connections at the bank
- Collaborates with a dedicated mentor who will provide support and answer questions
- Seeks guidance from supervisors as they help manage responsibilities, measure progress, and support growth
- Acquires knowledge of First Interstate’s procedures, standards, policies, banking functions, products, and services
- Works to develop key skills, including analytics, customer service, and business etiquette, necessary for success in an ever-changing work environment
- Works with experienced employees to learn best practices
Required Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well with a variety of personalities, be flexible in approach, and adaptable under pressure
- Must be detail-oriented and have strong analytical skills
- Must be organized and a self-starter
- Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school required or Completion of 2-3 years of college
