Software Engineering Intern - REMOTE at First American in Remote

Summary: First American is a company dedicated to fostering a people-first culture and is offering internship programs to university students this summer. Interns will collaborate with a team of engineers and product managers to propose ideas, implement solutions, and gain hands-on experience in software engineering. Responsibilities: - Collaborate with a dynamic and supportive team of backend and frontend engineers, product managers, designers, and DevOps engineers - Propose ideas, implement solutions, experiment, and launch features to First American’s users and customers - Influence engineers, teams, and product managers across the organization to shape the full product lifecycle - Maintain high standards in sustainable engineering by following best practices and delivering high-quality code, documentation, testing, and monitoring - Gain hands-on experience with technologies such as C#, TypeScript, Python, React, NestJS, SQL, NoSQL, Elasticsearch, Kubernetes, and a variety of AWS services - Use industry-standard tools like GitHub, Slack, Jira, Confluence, and LaunchDarkly Required Qualifications: - Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree at an accredited university - Must be majoring in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems - Prior exposure to best practices through hackathons, design challenges, university projects, or previous internships - Available full-time, 8-10 weeks for internship starting in early June 2026 and ending in August/September 2026 Required Skills: C#, Python, React, SQL Important Skills: TypeScript, NoSQL, Kubernetes, AWS services Nice-to-Have Skills: GitHub, Slack, Jira, Confluence, LaunchDarkly, Collaboration, Problem-solving Benefits: Mentorship & Buddy Program, Networking, Exposure, Extended Opportunities, Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, PTO/paid sick leave, Employee stock purchase plan
