Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly skilled, and certified Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team at Firmcare Diagnostic and Medical Services Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing complex diagnostic testing, operating advanced clinical equipment, ensuring rigorous quality control, and delivering precise, timely test results to support optimal patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnostic Testing: Perform standard and complex chemical, biological, hematological, microbiological, and immunohematological tests with precision and accuracy.
Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and operate laboratory instruments and equipment; maintain detailed records of maintenance and calibrations.
Sample Handling: Collect, receive, process, and properly store biofluid and tissue specimens according to strict safety protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Quality Assurance: Execute daily quality control procedures, monitor assay performance, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal quality management protocols.
Result Analysis & Reporting: Analyze laboratory findings, verify accuracy, and input data promptly into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) for medical team review.
Safety & Compliance: Adhere to biosafety protocols, hazardous waste management, and infection control standards at all times.
Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels of reagents, supplies, and test kits to prevent stockouts and minimize waste.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (B.MLS) or equivalent degree from a recognized institution.
Certification: Current registration and valid practicing license from the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
Experience: 2–4 years of post-NYSC clinical laboratory experience in a diagnostic center or hospital setting.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating automated diagnostic analyzers and Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
Competencies: Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and organizational skills with high attention to accuracy and detail.
Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal abilities for effective teamwork under fast-paced clinical conditions.
