Business Operations Manager at FinThrive in Location not listed
Job Description
Impact you will make
The Business Operations Manager will provide operational structure, reporting discipline, capacity planning, forecasting support, and portfolio governance for FinThrive's Revenue Opportunity Manager (ROM) business within Government Reimbursement. This role will partner closely with ROM leadership and functional delivery leads to create clear visibility into active work, risks, productivity, resource needs, and delivery performance across TDRG, TDRG-MA, IME, DDE/Remote Access, and client implementation activities.
The business impact of this position is significant. ROM is a complex, growing business that requires stronger operating rhythm, data-driven decision making, scalable reporting, and proactive risk management. This role will help improve delivery visibility, support revenue and capacity planning, strengthen leadership reporting, and enable the ROM team to scale without relying on a single subject matter expert or manager to hold all operational details.
What you will do
Major Responsibilities/Activities:
• Lead ROM portfolio governance by maintaining visibility into active projects, delivery status, operational risks, blockers, client commitments, and action items across the ROM product portfolio.
• Develop and maintain recurring operational reporting, KPI dashboards, scorecards, and leadership summaries that provide clear insight into portfolio health, productivity, capacity, delivery performance, and risk trends.
• Build and manage capacity planning models that evaluate workload, analyst productivity, project volume, resource utilization, staffing needs, contractor support, and future demand across ROM functions.
• Partner with Finance and ROM leadership to support revenue forecasting, reforecasting, performance analysis, and operational inputs tied to business planning and resource decisions.
• Use advanced Excel and SQL to query, validate, reconcile, analyze, and summarize operational data, including claims activity, productivity, client status, project volume, and delivery trends.
• Coordinate the ROM operating rhythm, including preparation for weekly operating reviews, risk reviews, action-item follow-up, status reporting, and cross-functional issue escalation.
• Partner with ROM functional leads across TDRG, TDRG-MA, IME, DDE/Remote Access, and client implementation to ensure operating data is accurate, risks are surfaced early, and work is prioritized appropriately.
• Identify process improvement, automation, reporting, and workflow standardization opportunities that improve operational maturity, consistency, scalability, and leadership visibility.
• Support client-facing operational materials, including status summaries, EBR inputs, project updates, and analysis that helps explain delivery progress, recovery outcomes, and operational dependencies.
• Promote accountability, data quality, follow-through, and continuous improvement across the ROM operating model.
What you will bring
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Finance, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Revenue Cycle Management, or related field; equivalent work experience may be considered.
• 5+ years of experience in healthcare operations, revenue cycle, reimbursement, claims operations, healthcare consulting, business operations, project portfolio management, or related delivery environment.
• 2+ years of experience leading operational workstreams, managing business operations routines, supporting cross-functional teams, or driving portfolio governance activities.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, XLOOKUP or INDEX/MATCH, formulas, conditional logic, Power Query, structured tables, data validation, and dashboard-ready summaries.
• Working SQL experience, including ability to query, join, filter, validate, reconcile, and summarize operational or claims-related data.
• Experience developing operational reporting, productivity metrics, KPI dashboards, scorecards, capacity models, or executive-ready business summaries.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, evaluate risks, and translate findings into clear recommendations and business actions.
• Strong project and portfolio management discipline, including ability to manage multiple priorities, track action items, escalate risks, and follow through on commitments.
• Ability to communicate effectively with leadership, operational teams, Product, Engineering, Finance, Client Success, Implementation, and other cross-functional partners.
• Strong attention to detail, data quality, follow-through, and ability to create structure in a growing and evolving business environment.
• Travel required: Minimal.
What we would like to see
• Experience with Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Transfer DRG, TDRG-MA, IME Shadow Billing, billing workflows, claim rebills, payer follow-up, or reimbursement recovery services.
• Experience with Domo, Power BI, Tableau, or another business intelligence or data visualization platform.
• Experience supporting revenue forecasting, operational reforecasting, staffing models, productivity measurement, or capacity planning in a healthcare services environment.
• Experience partnering with Product or Engineering teams to define reporting requirements, test workflow improvements, document business requirements, or support automation initiatives.
• Experience working in healthcare technology, SaaS-enabled services, consulting, outsourced operations, or a complex client-service delivery environment.
• Demonstrated ability to build new processes, reporting routines, or governance models where limited structure previously existed.
