Embedded Software Intern [Fall 2026] at Figure in San Jose, CA

Summary: Figure is an AI robotics company developing autonomous general-purpose humanoid robots, headquartered in San Jose, CA. They are seeking a motivated Embedded Software Intern to support their Humanoid Software Team and contribute to the implementation and testing of core software systems during Fall 2026. Responsibilities: - Implement and test embedded software in C++ running on the Humanoid compute platform - Develop Python scripts to support data management, test automation or robot calibration - Contribute to the development of our Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) infrastructure - Support hardware/software integration in the lab Required Qualifications: - Final-year undergraduate student or recent graduate in Computer Science or a related field - Minimum 10 weeks internship, 1 to 2 terms preferred - Ability to showcase extra-academic activities working on hardware/software projects - Fluent with C++ and Python - Deep understanding of Linux - Good knowledge of computer architecture, communication buses and protocols like Ethernet, Ethercat, Serial, CAN or USB - Comfortable using lab instruments (Oscilloscopes, logic analyzers…) and debugging tools (Lauterbach…) Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with the Bazel build system - Experience with Docker containers - Experience with Rust Required Skills: C++, Python, Linux, Computer Architecture, Communication Protocols, Ethernet, Ethercat, Serial, CAN, USB, Lab Instruments, Debugging Tools Internship Start Date: Start in 2026 Fall
